Restoring a SQL Server Database Using Transaction Log Backups

It may not be often, but it will happen - you'll need to do a point in time restore of a database. If you've done your preparations well, doing a full backup and log backups on a good schedule, the restore is the easy part. Restoring a database using log backups just builds on the skills you've already learned doing a restore from a full database backup.

Good point on the Copy issue. Might do a separate series on file locations and organization in light, medium and heavy duty (but non-cluster) installations.

It would be nice to see what the script looks like when doing this kind of restore. Or what is needed to do a point in time recovery from one server to another.

The title signaled that they would be restoring from transaction logs. I was under the impression that they would walk through the restore from a physical file or set of files. In this example, they just restored a copy of a database from another database. Not a very real world/disaser recovery situation.
