String Handling Functions - Part 5

This video explains how to use REPLACE. We'll look at the syntax, show an example of when you might need to run it twice to get the results you want, demonstrate using a token and replacing it with a value, and finally, a tricky way to get an approximate count of the number of words in a string. All of that using REPLACE!

Would be nice to zoom in for results so that it is clearer. That or increase font sizes.

I loved the Word Count example. I think I'm going to blog about it. Would you mind? Of course I will give you credit for the shear brilliance of it. :) Thanks for sharing that with the world. See you tomorrow night.

I figured out the nested replace a few months back; never thought about using the union all with it though. Great trick to get the word count!

Excellent! I suggest you increase the size of the result text. I have done it but have forgotten how. This would really help us see the results clearly.

Very useful, I use string replacement often, but I've not used it to find the number of words in a string. Thanks for the tip!
