This is a godd simple SSRS report idea. I like it, but I would love to see more complex reporting development methods. I know that dundas is shipping with SQL Server 2008 and might make for more exciting reporting ideas. Thanks for the hard work!

rupesh sharma on 9/11/2009
good

Travis on 9/11/2009
Good, but you are not using the KPI in SSRS to its full potenial. I would have liked to seen it used with the guage for a more elegant visual solution...

Excellent Job. If we insert symbol • in textbox and increase the size and then if we change the forecolor of this text • It will look better

Elmozamil on 6/30/2011
Ok, But it is take an expression to work around the problem, I prefer if there is a straight forward way to represent the KPIs. just like on Excel you drag and drop then you will see the arraws. Thanks For your effort and Knowledge sharing.

Video was well done, but out of date... Reporting Services 2008 R2 has "indicator" objects which do this much better.

what about if your sales quota is = to sales amount? wouldn't the IIF statement make that RED when it should really be Green? I would think you need >= in there...

Michael on 1/19/2012
Clear presentation of an example usable in the real world.

John O'Sullivan on 1/19/2012
a tad extavagent to call this a KPI report

Rich Herman on 1/19/2012
Not a KPI as much as assigning a color background, based on a value.
