Learnt something completely new

I liked the simple but effective example code for generating the deadlock.

Kevin MacKay on 12/30/2008
Thanks for this tip Jack...

gregory brown on 12/30/2008
never knew it could generate the graph

Jim-Mac on 12/30/2008
this video could be improved by explaining how the t-sql caused the deadlock rather than simply hovering over the two processes in the graph. Explaining the modes the two processes were in might tie it together better.

Keep 'em coming - this is awesome.

Cedric Walker on 12/30/2008
Very good voice syncronization with presentation. Voice was soothing and sincere. Not cocky or boisterous. Just enough detail and explanation. I tried two minutes after the video and it worked wonderfully.

Wow, this video was direct & to the point. I'd like to see more focused, condensed videos.

Thanks for all the positive comments. Jim-Mac, thanks for the suggestion. That may be another video.

Sometimes the trainers jump around to different screens, i can't see it because it is too small, it would be nice if they can SPEAK what they are closing or minimizing and what they are clicking on to Open or Maximize

Venkata Taduri on 2/24/2009
Good one.

Travis on 3/7/2009
A short explanation of what you did to cause the deadlock would have been helpful, as well as some coding tips to avoid in the future such as (reverse code sequences, wait for's, using TABLOCK,TABLOCKX hints, etc.)

Tonci on 9/21/2009
Guessing to mouse over deadlock description to watch sql statements which generate this deadlock, it is a really hard guess. Simple and good. Thank you.

interesting, it would be nice to provide the sample queries so we could validate the results locally.

Thanks for showing an easier way to detect deadlocks!

Can someone please tell your instructors to SPEAK UP! I keep having to turn the speaker volume to full from 50% just to hear what they are saying!

Syed Hassan on 6/15/2011
Great video and thanks for sharing. I wasn't sure how to use SQL profiler but this makes it more useful

Oliver wang on 6/16/2011
if we can get the scripts that are used in the vedio,it'll be perfect. Coz we can do this test on our own machine
