I'm currently working for FM Global, an industry leading engineering & insurance company, as a DBA. I've done development of large scale applications in languages such as VB, C# and Java. I've worked in SQL Server from the hoary days of 6.0. My nickname at work is the "The Scary DBA." I even have an official name plate with it. I wear it proudly. I was awarded a Microsoft MVP in April of '09.

You needed to show each plan on the same screen and explain a little of what happened, and where to learn more about reading/understanding execution plans.

Mark Gelatt on 10/27/2008
I would have liked some info on intrepreting an execution plan.

Would have been nice to see more about what an execution plan is for and the benefits of creating one and how to understand the plan.

Thomas Hauge on 10/27/2008
Maybe more on what to look for/how to interpret an execution plan.

"The shape has changed..." Really? The shape looks the same to me...

What was this. First class day of Intro to SQL Server???

D1D2BA048A on 10/27/2008
Very Very Poor.

Richard Rosenberg on 10/27/2008
Good but waay incomplete. Now that I know how to create an execution plan, what do I do with it? How do I interpret it to find out what changes to make to improve performance of my query?

david on 10/27/2008
Really? I dont need advice about what I should study... Please make videos about the ins and outs of execution plans instead please.

Pat on 10/28/2008
It would have been nice to see how it performs to prove your point in the video.

John O'Sullivan on 10/28/2008

George on 10/30/2008
too short

Preethi on 10/30/2008
Very short,Can you give more explanation in Diffrent Query.

Cindy on 10/31/2008
A more detailed explanation would have been nice.

Prasanna Prabhu on 11/28/2008
You did not say what the difference was in 2 execution plan, if you would have highlighted what it was , that would have been great

more detail would have been helpful; explain what the "good" vs. "bad" things in an execution plan are, etc.

More lecture than meat.

What? That's is a video you had put together!

Shrage on 1/22/2010
Now that i see the other videos i realize that this video is just an intro, but the problem with your videos is that you don't number the videos that belongs to one series, for example i wanted to learn how to read an execution plan, you have lots of videos about it, but seeing one video i noticed that some information in that video is not explained and it probably explained in another video. so please number your videos in a series.

Grant Fritchey on 1/23/2010
Each video was meant to stand on it's own. There is no order to them. It was a concept and based on a year of feedback, it didn't work too well.

Arun on 2/21/2010
Very good

Catto on 5/12/2010

Jeremy Espineda on 11/22/2011
