Idera SQL Check

Ignoring a SSIS Checkpoint

One thing that people typically want to do is always execute a particular task regardless of whether a checkpoint file exists or not. In this video, Jamie shows you how to create a package that can conditionally skip a checkpoint if it's in place.

Zooming in for clarity would be nice. I followed it, but have a good amount of experience with using checkpoint files. There are some setting a user must know to get it to work correctly in the first place, which is to fail the package. He talks about removing that and only failing the parent, which is the for loop container.

Good

A zoom in at times would have been useful as it was a bit hard to see.

Doesn't make sense to me to have to modify the package just to force it to ignore the check point. It might be easier to remove the checkpoint properties or delete the checkpoint file. I must be missing the point this time.

Video was a bit hard to see what was going on.. but good tip on how to force certain tasks to reexecute even though they did not fail previously.
