I liked the demo. Thank you.

Just what I needed!

I would have liked to have seen more about using environment variables to point to the location of the config files. What happens if you have multiple config files in the same folder and you select the option to use the environment variable for the location? Which config file(s) does the package use?

Brian is an excellent presenter. This was short but packed with the exact information I needed. That is a perfect combination for me. Thanks!

Very good !

Good one brian

Liked the video, would've been useful to see the configuration file deployed and used in a mock production environment like scenario.
Very useful. Glad I found it.

as usual brian save my butt again!

The "Snippet" is a little too Snippy to get a good view of the huge terrain that is SSIS
I am surprised that an end user would need to go in and modify an XML configuration file. Is there really not a friendly tool for that purpose?
Too Good....Voice was Clear this time.....Vedio was Clear.
It is an excellent video, it would have been better if deployment with configuration file was included too.

I have enabled package configuration for the set of properties that I have identified now and has been used by many developers across packages. In future, if I have to add few more new variables that I would want to reflect in all the packages. How do I do that? Is Package Configuration the right option?
The video doesn't show how to migrate from a development environment to a production one, keeping dev config in dev, and prod config in prod.
too fast, good stf

As always, excellent job.

Brian,
These videos are great! They complement/augment/refresh the end to end training class in awesome fashion. I'm building an SSIS package that I need to test on a different server before I move it to production and I remembered from class that the connections could be handled dynamically, just couldn't remember exactly how. A simple 12 minute video and voila'. Thanks very much.

Great presentation! Very helpful!

I'm just a beginner, so it's really useful for me

great video. Do you have confirguration video for SQL server configuration. If you have then can you please post it
Good volume, in depth. Might have shown it from two examples decomposing down instead of building up. Last bit about the re-use requires that I re-watch it a few times ;)
Last bit about re-use or overwrite of the configuration file is confusing, went too fast on that section. Rest was quite educational.
Good

The first part was good
Whats the rush Brian? A tad slower and it would be beautiful!

I like BK's videos. Always get something out of them. I'd like to see more detail on SQL Configurations with regards to moving a package from local to dev or dev to prod. Also would like to see one on parent package variable configurations
Brian,
Thanks for making this available. I forward this to recalcitrant developers as further motivation of how to do things right.
Definely good for basics. Would like to see for more advanced configurations. Possible examples of Parent to child configurations.

great.

need to show more specific placement of missing config values in the progress dialog.

Very good presentation

Even though Brian recorded this 4 years ago, the email arrived on the day I needed to set up an SSIS configuration file for the first time! Thanks very much!

It was very useful for me but like in many videos of this author, example that he tries to present as a prove of what he shows do not work.

awesome

no one has yet to show this method work by deploying it to another environment and then showing the actual result in the new environment. So we're missing the deployment with the logic in place.
One question I have is, when you deploy the package, does the xml configuration file populate the package store with the values in that configuration file (e.g. local)?
