Still can't get this Xform (Lookup) to work, but it's probably some stupid little thing. I had no idea how to even start without this video.

vishal on 7/5/2009
thx for updating it

Allen on 7/17/2009
great!

Jerry on 7/22/2009
Sound quality was poor, could not hear most of it. That said it prevents me from getting anything out of this one.

John O'Sullivan on 7/22/2009

good want to know more about lookup so plz post some more video on it

eirc on 7/22/2009
Should have included more information regarding the lookup data flow and what it actually did. Didn't seem like a basics video .. informative none the less.

Cynthia Gonzales on 7/22/2009
I could not hear the video even with the volumn turned up. It may just be my computer. I'll try again later.

punjwani on 7/22/2009
We need more info on lookup, like if we want to add unmatched records to seprate table.

John R deCoville on 7/27/2009
Simple example, big results. Need more and more of these!!!

Arturo on 7/28/2009

Just what I needed

R on 11/17/2009
Good.. but error output is not covered..

fabrizio la torre on 11/23/2009
it would have been interesting to add directly the part that will explain how unmatched rows are managed

Shane Moroney on 12/8/2009
Good introduction.

Chandhini on 12/24/2009
Super

Neelam on 1/2/2010
good one.

Marcel on 1/19/2010
super Video

Wenda Stephens on 2/2/2010
This is a good start.. I guess for me I am trying to figure out how to use the lookup for choosing whether to add or update records based on if found or not in the destination file. So I guess I would have liked to have seen one more piece with it working with the failed records.. But I think it is a small extra step which wont be too much of a jump.

gopi on 2/9/2010
nothing

iandi on 2/10/2010

Kris Robinett on 6/15/2010
Nice and simple. thnx

Ram on 6/15/2010
Not in detail

John on 6/17/2010
It was a bit short. Needed a little more explanation of what's actually happening and what's been output.

sridhar on 6/30/2010
Good One

ryan on 7/1/2010
Very nice! Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

Mark Gelatt on 7/30/2010
Good start, but need to know how to preserve 100% of the input rows in the output. This appears to be an INNER JOIN which will cause some records to be lost.

Don Gilman on 8/20/2010
Too brief. Needed to show results and needed to show the discarded records.

Bren on 10/13/2010
The video is not working.

Nitin Mistry on 10/27/2010
no too bad but the videos need to be larger in size (eg: 800 x 600 would work very well served from Amazon Cloud - we serve all our 1024 x 768 size videos from the cloud and it super fast and our viewers love it!

James on 12/16/2010
Too Short

jyoti on 12/20/2010
ok ok video

TomHod on 1/9/2011
Just the info I wasw looking for on this feature

KaliPrasad on 2/9/2011
Fine .........

Sabotta on 2/24/2011
This video demonstrates the Lookup Full Cache feature implemented in SQL Server 2008. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/ff686908.aspx

It should have been in little more detail.

DP on 3/16/2011
Nice vedio!! How the failed records will be tracked?

Trey Carroll on 4/7/2011
The video is excellent except for a glaring omission. You never explain what you have accomplished! Did the lookup transform create a temp table with the vals from the flat file substituted and then these get used to replace existing rows in the db or did you insert new rows?

Dan OBrien on 4/15/2011
very Good.. this is a great site

Amit on 5/10/2011
Great Video Tim, I have worked with DTS extensively and now trying to learn SSRS; It helped me a lot !!!

How about providing links to continued videos? Presenter mentioned he'd be addressing missed matches in a later video, but now I have to try to find where that 2nd video is.

Anil Babu on 6/15/2011

Good

Danny Costello on 12/21/2011
Nice intro to Lookups, looking forward to seeing what to do with the lokup mismatches

Robert Gibson on 12/21/2011
Would have loved to see the results after the transformation by opening the destination table.

david p on 12/21/2011
A "so what" video.

Karl R on 12/21/2011
Good intro, but I also would have liked to see the results vs the input values to understand what rows were dropped & why.

De Brabander John on 12/21/2011
As a result I cleaned up some of the lookups I had been using in a small project, although real time profit will be to small to notice.

Eric on 12/21/2011
The volume is too low.

David Mark Everson on 12/21/2011
Too simple

Tahir A. Syed on 12/21/2011
Great, should explain how to write those rejected data in the reject table. Thanks...

Mike Fieldman on 12/21/2011
Excellent!

Jesus on 12/21/2011
Great and clear explanation on how to use the components

Harvey Schwartz on 12/21/2011
It looks like the database destination is being used both for a lookup to one table and insert into a different table. Is this correct?

pvong on 12/21/2011
I still have no idea what you are trying to show us. What was the end result? You just showed us HOW to do something but not exactly why we would really want to use this.

George Squillace on 12/21/2011
I would like to have seen more but this was a good beginning.

David Overall on 12/23/2011
Thanks for showing this useful component of SSIS

Juan Rivero on 12/26/2011
Tells how to hook up to other components but does not explain what the purpose of this Lookup component is.

Kris Robinett on 12/29/2011
I would have like to seen output that was sent to the OLE DB destination.

Saikumar on 12/30/2011
Excellent video

Nandakumar on 3/16/2012
Very Good Video

Nandakumar on 3/16/2012
Good One...But I'm not able to figure which table to be used as source table and which table as reference table and it is not clear that to which table the data is updated...Little more detail on these would have been more helpful

vikas jain on 5/6/2012
great video with explanation

ravi on 5/29/2012
excellent work.keept it up
