You should also add , the case where filter is used and it uses clustered index seek

Grant Fritchey on 10/21/2008
But then the video wouldn't be "What is a clustered index scan" any more. Still, the need for longer videos that offer methods for affecting execution plans is needed. The initial set of videos I recorded were meant to be short. They were supposed to simply explain individual operators, what causes them, what they do.

Jeffery Williams on 10/21/2008
Not enough information. Maybe continue for some general recommendations on how to fix the problem

Lynn Rosini on 10/21/2008
It would have been helpful to show what you should do different if in this case a Clustered Index is a BAD thing.

John Moffett on 10/21/2008
You've shown a problem how would you fix it?

Will Summers on 10/21/2008
Too short. I was expecting some more details.

Rob Wingate on 10/21/2008
It would be nice to see examples of how to best fix this situation

don on 10/21/2008
needs the rest of the topic. What todo to correct the problem.

Andy Warren on 10/21/2008
Don't throw too many rocks at Grant, as he noted what we requested was a very short video to cover the very basics, then we'll be adding some more advanced videos that bring it together.

John O'Sullivan on 10/21/2008
very good - further explanantion of Clustered Index would have been helpful.

DavidB on 10/22/2008
Great job! You showed the problem and gave some ideas toward a solution. Thanks!

Carla Wilson on 10/22/2008
Way too short. Didn't explain WHAT a clustered index is, or how to fix the problem with the one in the example

James Mount on 10/23/2008
No solution provided to solve the problem!

Marc on 10/26/2008
Good tip. Would creating another index on the primary key that was not clustered fix this problem?

Mark Gelatt on 10/27/2008
good overview of why the query is bad, but we need to know how the index should have been to make it better.

Tahir A. Syed on 10/27/2008
very short video & lack of info. Thanks...

Bill Nicolich on 6/18/2009
Solid.

JohnG on 3/31/2010
too short; explain a bit more; more examples on causes and fixes.

Muhammad Imran on 5/13/2011
A very Short Video. Should be of at least 2 minutes

Eric on 5/25/2011
Simple and helpful, thank you very much! A few minutes on each operator is enough to get me "broken in" on each and ready to research them myself. These execution plan videos are much, much appreciated.
